Congratulations to Ron Vogel, winner of our 2017 Gazebo!

Lions International is 100 years in 2017. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LIONS INTERNATIONAL!

Lions around the world have been changing lives for 100 years through humanitarian service. Our Centennial Celebration is a time to mark this milestone, celebrate our legacy and look forward to the next century of service.

Our motto is We Serve. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" during the association's international convention. Today, Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions demonstrate their commitment to sight conservation through eyeglass recycling, sight partnerships, and countless other sight services.

Internationally, the Lions International Eye Bank supports cornea transplants, sight conservation, and other work relating to helping the blind regain their sight or function better in the dark world.

In Didsbury, members of the Lions Club volunteer their time in service to their community. The Club owns and operates the Lions Shuttle Bus, offering taxi service for the elderly, handicapped, and everyone!

For many years, the Lions organized the annual Soap Box Derby in Didsbury. As of 2016, this event will be hosted by the Didsbury Car Club. Please visit their website for details.

You'll find us at DidsburyLionsClub. Each year, members of the Didsbury Lions Club build a playhouse or gazebo and raffle off tickets at the annual Didsbury Art, Travel & Trade Expo and throughout the summer, with the draw being made in August during the Fair & Rodeo. Proceeds from the raffle go to support many worthwhile events and activities in the community, and those initiated by Lions Club International.

Club members also host the Lions Auction every spring, with proceeds going to community projects.
